Image shows 4 IDs in two-by-two vertical order, with examples of IDs that are REAL-compliant or not.Starting May 7, all students will need to a REAL ID-compliant form of identification to get into any Veterans Affairs (VA) facility. This is a federal requirement and applies to everyone entering VA campuses for official purposes, including clinical clerkships.

If you're not sure if your current ID is REAL ID-compliant, it's a good time to check. If your ID is not compliant, you'll want to take care of that immediately to ensure no issues for onboarding or at the beginning of your clerkship.

For more information about REAL ID requirements and how to obtain one, visit the Department of Homeland Security. If you have any questions or need further guidance, contact IU School of Medicine Compliance.
