Bio
Dr. Jill A. Grant, MD MS FACEP, is the Director of Clinical Education, Phase2/3 at the IU School of Medicine-West Lafayette. Prior to her current role, Dr. Grant was the IU Emergency Medicine Site Clerkship Director and an Emergency Medicine Physician at IU Health Arnett. She is a graduate of Kalamazoo College, received her MS and MD from Chicago Medical School, and completed an Emergency Medicine Residency at the University of Virginia. Dr. Grant is Boarded in Emergency Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. She holds Faculty appointments at the IU School of Medicine and Butler University. Dr. Grant has extensive experience as a leader, mentor, and educator. While in the U.S. Army she proudly served as the Academic and Curriculum Director at Fort Sam Houston for the medical students and EM Physician Assistants. She is Internationally known for her work in detention medicine and has worked diligently to curb the opiate epidemic and opiate deaths by writing and implementing hospital policy. Dr. Grant has received multiple awards for teaching and mentoring students, APPs, and residents including the Excellence in Mentoring award from the IUSM. Dr. Grant has more than 2 decades of experience in multiple medical arenas from Community Access Hospitals, Level 1 Trauma Centers, Academics, Combat Zones, and International Medical Missions. She spent 14months in Iraq at Abu Ghraib as the ED Director of a Field hospital. Dr. Grant teaches several courses and enrichments sessions including EMRD, Transitions 2, procedure and simulation labs, and Ultrasound. Secondary to her unique amalgamation of personal and professional experiences, Dr. Grant brings a sense of real-world focus to her teaching approaches.
