Specimen Requirements

Collect: 10% buffered formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue (PET) specimen.

Specimen Volume: 4-micron sections on 2-3 positively charged slides with corresponding H&E section with area of tumor marked by pathologist.

Storage/Transport: Room temperature or refrigerated. Protect from excessive heat.

Unacceptable Conditions: Do not send a block. No decalcified bone. No specimens fixed/processed in non-10% buffered formalin. No frozen specimens.

Stability: Ambient: Indefinitely; Refrigerated: Indefinitely; Frozen: Unacceptable
